Travel rewards do not need to cover everything.
Maybe your miles cover your long-haul flight. Maybe your hotel points cover only two nights. Maybe you have enough points for an upgrade but not the entire booking. Maybe one loyalty program works perfectly for one destination but makes little sense for another.
