Day-by-Day Itinerary
Upon arrival at Vienna International Airport or the central train station, you are welcomed by a private VIP transfer and escorted comfortably to your selected luxury hotel. After check-in, the journey begins gently with a refined first orientation through Vienna's historic heart.
Depending on arrival time, your guide introduces elegant squares, hidden courtyards and imperial façades — the unique rhythm of a city shaped by Roman foundations, medieval lanes, Baroque power and contemporary luxury. In the evening, meet your fellow travellers over a relaxed welcome and let the city's atmosphere settle in.
The first full day is dedicated to Vienna as the former capital of an empire. Together with an expert guide, the group explores the Hofburg Palace district, once the political and ceremonial centre of the Habsburg monarchy.
The route connects the Imperial Treasury, St. Stephen's Cathedral, elegant city palaces and the cultural codes that shaped Vienna's identity. In the evening, guests enjoy one of Vienna's great privileges: an opera or classical music experience at the Vienna State Opera or a carefully selected concert venue.
Today combines imperial grandeur, modernist architecture and Viennese wine culture. The morning is dedicated to Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens — the former summer residence of the Habsburgs and one of Vienna's grandest settings.
The afternoon follows the traces of Otto Wagner and the city's modernist spirit, then climbs to the Kahlenberg viewpoint for sweeping views over Vienna and the Danube. The day closes at a traditional Heuriger in the vineyards — a convivial evening of local wine, regional food and the warmth that defines this journey. Lunch and dinner are included today.
This day explores Vienna as a city of art, beauty and cultural transformation. The central highlight is the Belvedere Palace, home to Gustav Klimt's world-famous The Kiss and one of Austria's most important art collections.
Your guide connects the Belvedere with the atmosphere of Vienna around 1900 — a period shaped by Klimt, Schiele, Freud, Mahler and Otto Wagner. The day also includes a distinctive gold workshop, offering a hands-on encounter with the craftsmanship behind the city's gilded artistic legacy.
A full day in the Wachau Valley — the romantic Danube landscape of terraced vineyards, ruined castles and quiet villages, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The group enjoys guided wine tastings at a selected producer and a leisurely e-bike ride along the Danube, accessible to all comfortable riders. It is a day of nature, gastronomy and the slower rhythms of the Austrian countryside. Lunch and dinner are included today.
Flexibility is one of the great strengths of this journey, and Day 6 is yours to shape. Choose from a curated set of options — a museum swap (for example the Kunsthistorisches Museum or Albertina), a spa and wellness morning, a guided hiking alternative, or simply free time to explore Vienna at your own pace.
All choices are subject to availability, opening hours, weather and operational feasibility, and some may affect pricing. Your guide and travel advisor will help confirm the right option for the group. This is the small-group model at its best: shared logistics, individual freedom.
After a relaxed breakfast and a fond farewell to your fellow travellers, a private transfer takes you to the airport or train station for your onward journey.
Prefer to stay longer? Extensions to Salzburg, Hallstatt, Prague, Budapest, Bratislava or the Austrian Alps can be arranged — speak with your travel advisor before or after booking and we will design the continuation around you.
